What to Expect

If I decide to engage in counselling, how often will it be?

Counselling sessions are typically 50 minutes long, once a week. The timing and duration of therapy depends on need and individual client preferences. Sessions can be arranged on a short or long-term basis, depending on your needs and goals for therapy. You, the client, always have the power to end sessions.


If I decide to come for counselling, what will it be like?

Once you make an initial appointment, we will meet for an introductory session designed to explore where you are at in your life and what has brought you to counselling at this time. This is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the process of counselling. An initial appointment does not represent a commitment to therapy. You have the power to decide after the initial appointment whether or not you would like to proceed.

Our therapy rooms are designed to be cosy, warm and safe space.

I’m not sure if I need counselling at the moment… Do I?

There are times when life can be difficult and challenging. Sometimes we feel like we are ‘stuck’, repeating the same patterns and seeing the same results, though all appears to be well from the outside looking in. We wear ‘masks’ to get through each day - counselling can be a safe space to begin to let down those masks and to explore what lies underneath.

We can all do with the space and support that a counselling environment uniquely brings, from time to time. There is no shame in reaching out for support.

Sometimes life can be challenging and can seem too much for us to bear on our own or even with the support of friends or family. If this is the case, counselling exists as an opportunity and space to unload and to process what is going on for you.
